The Renewable Energy Engineering and Environment program in TU involves the study of renewable energy and the environment systems, in order to provide the students with the essential knowledge and skills needed in these fields and addresses the researchers needs for high level training in areas of technology of renewable energy and environment.
This program is accredited after an analytical study conducted by MAPEC team in Tishreen University for the renewable energy resources and the labor market in Syria.
The Progress of implemented activities since the 4th Mapec meeting in July 2013, up to the end of Feb. 2014, could be summarized in the following steps;
1- Accreditation; The study plan, was approved by the Board of Higher Education on 29th of Sep. 2013, and then, accredited by the Ministry of Higher Education on 27th of Oct 2013.
2- The accreditation by Ministry of Higher Education gave an opened continuity for this Master Program for the coming years by force of lawof higher education in Syria.
3- Announcement; It was done through the Web on the official sites of (MoHE) and (TU) and on the local advertising boards at TU, just after the date of its approval by the (BHE) on the 10th of Oct. 2013.
4- Student selection; The preparation process for the selection of students began with the task written test on 27th Oct 2013, to state the students standard levels of the scientific knowledge in field of specialty.
5- (10) successful students were selected out of (60) and registered as post graduate candidates for the Master Program.
6- The formal opening day for the Master program was organized and performed on 23rd of Jan 2013, by MAPEC team and the decision makers in TU by meeting students and Introducing them to the objectives of the program, its implementing methodology and declaring the official starting day of the courses sessions and lectures, ended with taking some memorial pictures in the front garden of the faculty of the Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
7- The teaching process began after the completion of the selected students registration, according to the unified academic calendar year of the Syrian universities 2013-2014 for postgraduate studies .

8- Mapec Team of TU, stated the date of students training at the end of the teaching process in between mid of Jun to the end of July 2014.
9- Also, it was decided that the selection process of technicians trainees should concentrate on the technicians who are responsible about the up keeping the purchased equipments, their operation and proper use management.
10- In relation to Training of trainers, the NSC of TU proposes to arrange for some scientific visits to some of the team lecturers, to the European specialist centers for (1) week, to get new and up to date knowledge about the best practices in the area of their respective fields of specialty.
11- Mapec Team of TU agreed to invite one or two external examiners from the partner countries to share with the thesis defend committee.
12- Also, agreed to invite Prof, Alsalaimeh, Prof, Ajeeb and Sanaa alaqqad, to visit TU before the end of the academic year and have a close look at the progress of the teaching process of Mapec program in TU.
13- The students were directed to start choosing The thesis themes in collaboration with their supervisors from the mid of Feb 2014.
14- Also agreed to start implementation of students internship by nominating students according to the offered vacancies and subjects in the European partners Universities.
15- TU Steering committee discussed MAPEC NIN Activation Plan and tried hard, to invite Syrian companies, authorities and institutions that concern about the renewable energy and environmental fields to get involved in MAPEC NIN and visiting the site.
At the end, TU Mapec team agreed and decided to meet every two weeks to discuss the follow up steps of the program and solve any raised problem.
