Graz University of Technology
Graz University of Technology pursues top teaching and research in the fields of the engineering sciences and the technical-natural sciences. An integral part of putting together excellent education and training programs is knowing about the needs of society and the economy. Ultimately, the quality of the education and training at Graz University of Technology is carried by the strength of its knowledge-oriented and applied research. Numerous competence centers and large EU projects are only a few examples of the University’s extremely active and successful research activities. The Electric Drives and Machines Institute at Graz University of Technology has a long-standing tradition of research into the design and analysis of inverter-fed electric drive systems, for a wide range of applications. Prof. Muetze, who had worked previously in Germany, the US, and the UK, became head of the institute in April 2010, further directing the institute into an international network of research and development activities. The new leadership also brought forth the construction of a new, modern laboratory building for research and teaching activities. Website.
